We recently teamed up with nonprofit, Building Impact, to host an in-office volunteering event assembling toiletry kits for two local charities. We held a month-long drive to collect a variety of toiletries including toothpaste, toothbrushes, first aid kits, lip balms, soaps, and shampoos. Our group of volunteers sorted all of the items and then packaged them into individual bags that will be distributed by Y2Y Harvard Square, a student-run overnight homeless shelter, and by The New England Center and Home for Veterans. When we ran out of toothpaste for the remaining bags, we ran downstairs to Boston Dental Design, a dentist located in our building, and they generously donated toothpaste so we could complete our bags. I’m proud to be part of a team and in a building with such generous people.
