Wauwinet Inn

Arrowstreet was commissioned to perform extensive renovations to a number of historic Nantucket resorts. The White Elephant was thoroughly rehabilitated and expanded with a major 2 floor 30,000 square foot addition. The Wauwinet was re-created as a first-class luxury escape. It blends traditional architecture elements of Nantucket’s Quaker past – simple wood structure clad in cedar shingles, true divided lite windows, painted wood balconies – with the open organization of the island’s grand 19th century hotels. A hotel restaurant, Toppers, was incorporated into the design of the overall hotel.
