Our Graphics, Architecture, and Interior Design studios have joined creative forces to renovate the Children’s Library at Thayer Public Library in the Town of Braintree. This active space in the library was in need of updating to accommodate growing demands, expanded programming, and updated technology. The project goal was to create a space for imaginative play where the Library can deliver a higher level of services. The renovation features flexible, adaptive, and inviting spaces that increase opportunities for family interaction while instilling a love for reading and learning in the youngest community members and their caregivers. The design’s colors, materials, and finishes are inspired by the room’s five existing stained glass windows. The carpet pattern features five dominant colors, derived from the stained glass, which are integrated with the colorful wall murals featuring learning elements to create moments of fun and discovery.
