Mila’s is a new restaurant located at the base of Gibson Point, a recently completed multifamily residential development in Revere. Anchored at the connection between Gibson Park and the new public boardwalk, residents and the local community can dine along the revitalized shoreline. In warm weather, outdoor dining spills out along the boardwalk populated with reclaimed stone seating and a bocce court. The interior of the restaurant opens up through expansive folding window walls to take advantage of the sea breezes.
The interior design is an extension of the wellness-centered amenity spaces of Gibson Point. With views out to the tidal river and marsh, the space features rich, warm wood millwork and deep green patinaed tiles to embrace the connection to the natural landscape. Bright walls, stone counters, and antique brass accents enhance the natural light in the north-facing space to maintain a welcoming and peaceful atmosphere from day to night.
Seating in the small space is thoughtfully maximized with custom-designed booths and banquettes and ample seating at the long curved bar. The rich wood paneled bar and backbar is the feature of the space and is divided into two zones to accommodate separate day and night services. The coffee bar is situated nearest the entry to serve visitors during the day with prepared foods, pastries, and coffee. The custom-designed host station doubles as a coffee station by day. By night, the backbar features arched niches with a smoky mirror backsplash and integral shelf uplighting for displaying glassware. The wood at the back bar turns up to become a dropped wood slat ceiling over the entire bar to create an inviting space for dining and conversation.
