New carbon neutral-ready mass timber office building
This new office building is designed with a glulam structure and CLT floors, making it one of the first mass timber office buildings in Massachusetts. Arrowstreet combined these innovative construction materials and a low carbon exterior envelope with all-electric heating and cooling systems to position the building for carbon neutrality.
Located close to the Malden Center MBTA station with both Commuter Rail and Orange Line access, the building’s users will have easy walking access to transportation, restaurants, and all of the services available within the Malden Central Business District.
The project offers three floors of office space with exterior decks at each level including a large rooftop deck for the fourth-floor tenant, as well as Boston skyline views. Every tenant will enjoy generous daylighting via floor to ceiling windows. All floors feature exposed wood structural elements and expansive wood ceilings, providing tenants with the benefits of biophilic design. The first floor offers retail and restaurant spaces and a thru-lobby connecting the street with a small parking area behind the building.
