Brooklyn Boulders Grand Opening
We’re so happy to join Brooklyn Boulders at the Grand Opening of their new rock climbing gym tonight. The 38,000-square-foot gym has 45-foot tall climbing walls (the largest bouldering walls in the Northeast!), yoga, weights, treadmills, and copious ways to join in the fun – from kid’s programs to climbing classes to commercial incubator space for business start-ups…
A-Team’s Walk-off Win!
Congratulations to the Arrowstreet A-Team for bringing home our first victory of the softball season over SMMA… and in dramatic fashion. It was a close, seesaw-style game throughout the night, with each team being ahead in back and forth fashion until the bottom of the seventh, when the A-Team was down by 3 runs. Then a come-from-behind, walk-off grand slam sent the A-Team cheering to a 17-16 win.
Arrowstreet Moving to Post Office Square
Here is our press release on our upcoming move to PO Square! We are all excited about the new location, and plan to share more about what the new space will look like as plans develop…
ICSC Real Estate Convention in Las Vegas
Arrowstreet has attended the annual International Council of Shopping Centers Real Estate Convention (RECon) for over 20 years. With all of the major shopping center developers, real estate brokers and retailers present, the convention is THE place to be for anybody in retail real estate development. Some years, more than 40,000 people descend upon Las Vegas to plan projects, broker deals, and network. This year, the convention ran from May 19 through May 22. We were there and the mood in the convention hall was enthusiastic…
Mayor Curtatone Visits Arrowstreet
Last week, Arrowstreet hosted our annual event to honor Somerville Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone. The fundraiser affords local business leaders and residents the opportunity to speak with Mayor Curtatone about the community, real estate, and plans for the City’s future.
Excel Academy Gala
Last week Larry Spang, George Tremblay, and I had the pleasure of attending a fund raising celebration that was put on by Excel Academy Charter Schools. Excel serves the Boston area with three individual middle schools, one of which is a recently completed Arrowstreet project. With the recent approval of their charter expansion, they also plan to open a high school in the near future…
AST Iron Chefs Bring the Heat!
After what felt like a never-ending winter cold spell, Arrowstreet warmly welcomed the month of May this year with its annual Cinco De Mayo celebration and a Tex-Mex chili cook-off. Nine of our ardent chili makers competed in this year’s challenge with a wide array of sweet and spicy flavors, savory aromas, robust ingredients, and unmistakable presentations. Family and friends…
Arrowstreet’s Work Featured in the BBJ
The Boston Business Journal honored KIPP Academy Lynn earlier this week with their Best in Real Estate award earlier this week. Here is the corresponding article.
KIPP Academy Lynn Wins BBJ Award
It was announced today that Arrowstreet’s KIPP Academy Lynn project was awarded the 2013 Boston Business Journal’s Best in Boston Real Estate Award for “Community Impact.”
The award is recognition of the fantastic impact that the KIPP program has had on the lives of its students and their families. The new facility has allowed the KIPP program to expand their middle school program and extend the experience for their students through high school, with both the middle and high schools being combined in the new building.
Congratulations to the entire project team!
Volleyball at Arrowstreet
Arrowstreet just rounded up competing in the architects’ volleyball league in Boston. A handful of AST’ers helped lead us to success this season, including Jason King (our heralded coach and inspirational pre-game speaker), Greg Triplett, Kate Bubriski, Victoria Wright, and myself, along with several spouses and friends. We put together a strong showing during the regular season with a 43-13 record, earning us a #3 seed in the playoffs. Sadly, our tournament hopes ended in the second round of the playoffs this year, but we have high hopes for next year: we anticipate the return of many strong, and now seasoned, players from this season’s squad. (Not to mention the strenuous off-season workouts Coach King surely has planned.) Thanks to all who played, it was fun!
