Improving K-12 Learning Through Building Design
This past week, I had the opportunity to attend the Learning Environments for Tomorrow [LEFT] conference at Harvard. The program was a joint collaboration between the Graduate School of Education and the Graduate School of Design, and was well attended by a diverse and international group of K-12 school administrators, educators, and architects. The focus of the conference was the…

Arrowstreet was pleased to host a pre-event cocktail hour for NAIOP’s recent “Updating Yesterday’s Buildings for Today’s Tenants” on March 11th. The event featured a panel discussion between stakeholders including building owners, tenants, and architects (including our own building owner, Synergy Investments, here at 10 Post Office Square). Enjoy some of the photos from our space, and thanks to NAIOP…

On March 5, I heard Erica Dhawan speak at the WLI Event – “Unleashing Innovation Through the Power of Your Networks,” with Arrowstreet colleagues. The group holds events that encourage women in the industry to pursue leadership positions and increases visibility of women leaders in real estate and A/E/C. Erica,…

Upcoming BosNOMA Meeting
As a newly minted co-chair of the Boston chapter of NOMA (National Organization of Minority Architects), I wanted to share that our next upcoming meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 10th. NOMA (noma.net) is a minority-based organization, in partnership with the AIA. Our goal is to regain traction for the local chapter and engage a more diverse community of leaders and designers in the profession.
Holiday Cheer at Arrowstreet
The holidays were in full swing at Arrowstreet last Tuesday, when the studio held its first Yankee Swap (also known as White Elephant). Over twenty members of our staff participated, munching on snacks and sampling Ingrid’s tasty homemade eggnog as the game was played. Things got heated in quests to attain more sought-after items, such as a Buddha Board or…
RetailGreen: Tales from a Newbie
I recently attended my first ICSC RetailGreen and Centerbuild conferences this year. As a newbie in the room I wasn’t sure what to expect, and I must say it was a great experience. There were tons of people to meet and a wide spectrum of perspectives from within the retail building industry. This led to plenty of interesting and diverse conversations throughout the week.
ICSC RetailGreen Wrap Up
“Renowned speakers from around the world… New research presented for the first time… A call for a National Water Summit in the Spring of 2015…” Those are some notes I took from just the first two hours of the ICSC RetailGreen Conference. This year’s conference, the seventh annual, was the best ever. Ok, as co-Chair of the event, I’m biased,…
