Arrowstreet Director of Sustainability and Building Performance, Kate Bubriski, AIA, will be speaking at Getting to Zero Twitter Chat: Engaging the Next Generation to Achieve our Climate Goals on September 20, 2021.
As we witness more of the direct effects of climate change, it has become evident that reducing carbon emissions from the built environment must be a multigenerational effort. With 48% of the youngest generation entering the workforce (Generation Z) coming from communities of color, it is crucial that our industry adapts to better reflect a variety of backgrounds and perspectives. The release of the recent NIBS 2021 Built Environment Social Equity Survey specifically highlighted the need to bring more diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts into place within the industry. In this Twitter chat, we will discuss the steps that must be made to prepare this next generation to continue important climate work–through mentorship, programs, education and more.
