A beautiful warm late-spring evening made the perfect backdrop for Arrowstreet’s annual Associates’ Social Event. This year, we spent an evening in the Boston Seaport District with a visit to the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA). There, we enjoyed touring the galleries and contemplating the art and installations by Kevin Beasley, Caitlin Keogh, and viewing the show Tangled in the Everyday, featuring art from the permanent collection of the ICA. After a visit to the galleries, we then joined a docent for the ICA’s Summer Architectural tour. The tour covered some of the unique features in Diller, Scofidio, and Renfro’s iconic architecture, and how the design of the building takes full advantage of its unique location on the Boston waterfront. All of us came away with an enhanced appreciation of this Boston landmark, and a better understanding of how the architecture and building helps further the mission of the ICA.
