On Earth Day this year, Arrowstreet celebrated an important milestone as we made a pledge to the AIA 2030 Commitment. The AIA 2030 Commitment is a “national initiative that provides a consistent, national framework with simple metrics and a standardized reporting format to help firms evaluate the impact design decisions have on an individual project’s energy performance.”
Arrowstreet made this commitment because it supports our mission to be leaders in the creation of an environmentally, financially, and socially sustainable world. As practitioners of the built environment, we recognize our responsibility to have a positive impact on the environment, and to encourage others to do so as well. We see the 2030 Commitment as a tool which will allow us to better understand the energy performance of our buildings, and the impact we can have on that performance, both as predicted in design, and in actual operation. Through improved building performance, we are helping to achieve the climate action plans of the communities that we work with, such as the Greenovate Boston 2014 Climate Action Plan.
