I attended the Governor Forum on Energy, the Environment and the Innovation Economy on March 23rd,at Faneuil Hall. The forum set the stage for Massachusetts Gubernatorial candidates to provide their position on sustainability topics affecting the Commonwealth as well as discuss opportunities to elevate sustainability goals. The five candidates who participated in this moderated discussion were Joe Avellone, Don Berwick, Martha Coakley, Steve Grossman, and Juliette Kayyem. Discussion topics included smart growth, climate preparedness, carbon tax, and chemicals of concern – all important areas to consider when ensuring the longevity and prosperity of both the Commonwealth and the environment. The event took place in the same location our nation’s founding fathers met to exchange ideas. What a perfect setting!
